Rishul Chandra has stepped down from his role as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Food Delivery, effective April 7, 2025.

In an email to Deepinder Goyal, the CEO of Zomato, Chandra stated that he was leaving the food delivery giant to “pursue new opportunities and passions that align with my evolving personal and professional goals.”

Chandra joined Zomato in June 2018 as the Associate Vice President of Product, a position he held until June 2020, when he was made the Vice President of Product. In January 2022, Chandra became the Head of Business for Zomato Everyday. He was ultimately promoted to the role of COO of Food Delivery in June 2023.

With Chandra’s resignation, this will be the second major shakeup in Zomato’s leadership in the past six months. In September 2024, Akriti Chopra, the Co-Founder and Chief People Officer of Zomato, also left the company.

Prior to his time with Zomato, Chandra was one of the founding team members of Magicpin and served as the company’s Head of Product and Content from June 2015 to May 2018. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur,  Chandra has worked with companies like Shell, Hindustan Unilever, and ITEN Corporation in various capacities.
